Live Performance and Bio

Debra G is a music and vocal confidence coach, professional singer/songwriter, performer, and recording artist with

25+ years of diverse vocal and performance experience including extensive college level training in contemporary genres, classical voice, vocal technique, opera and recital performance and vocal pedagogy.

Debra G, now an online small business owner, started her career as a touring and recording artist.

When Debra G went through her graduation to celebrate a BA in Fine Arts with emphasis in Vocal Performance, she realized that there was so much more to being a musician than going to school full time. Learning how to run your own business, how to network and meet the right people, and experience the world - this was her next level of learning in order to be a successful business woman and musician. She packed her car with her guitar and cloths and drove to Minneapolis, MN. Here her real life music journey began.

Below are some highlights from her quarter century of hard work and dedication to her craft.

One of the last highlights of Debra G's touring career was being on tour singing with Nicholas David, 3rd place winner from NBC's hit show "The Voice". One tour in 2013, They opened for the Avett Brothers for their album release tour of "Magpie and the Dandelion". On this tour, Debra G and the Nicholas David crew were blessed with the opportunity to perform at some of the most amazing venues: the Santa Barbara Bowl, San Francisco's America's Cup Pavilion, Mesa Amphitheater, AZ and Seattle's Key Arena; just to name a few.

In college, Debra competed in several state, regional and national competitions taking home finalist, 2nd place, and then 1st place in 2000.

Debra G toured Northern Italy twice, singing lead in the Operetta, Orfeo et Euridice and performing Lieder song

recitals in several beautiful Italian Opera houses.

Debra G had the honor of performing an original a-capella song for the sensational spoken word/dance/music performance of “Amor” during the Nvitational dance festival at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood, CA in 2011.

Debra G is the featured lead vocalist on an EP recording of the New York City’s risqué musical, “White Noise” (which was never publically released due to controversy).

“The Prick" written and directed by Justin Hawkins debuted in Los Angeles, CA in 2013 featuring three original compositions by Debra G.

“The Plea”, Debra G’s most popular single on iTunes, was awarded finalist in the 2008 "We are listening" International Songwriting Competition. “The Plea” is also featured on the Quickstar Productions (New York City) compilation, “Chill Out” 2009.

“Tomorrow” is also featured on the Quickstar Productions compilation,

“Come Clean” 2010, and both compilations are internationally distributed.

Since 2010, Debra has been one of the featured Janis Joplin performers in Happy Birthday, Janis! A Tribute to the Life and Music of Janis Joplin. She has been performing as Janis for over 13 years.

For 15 years, Debra partnered with She Rock She Rock’s Girls Rock and Roll Retreat and Ladies Rock Camp empowering girls, women, trans folk and non-binary to ROCK in the music industry.

During the first 17 years of Debra G's time as a full time touring and recording artist, she also traveled all over the nation working full time for a character building non-profit organization to help improve schools and student's self esteem called Youth Frontiers, Inc.

Debra G is on a mission to release fun and engaging vocal warm ups. Her first warm up release is called "Vocal Days of the Week" and is sure to bring more vocal sass and confidence to your life!
